Council Velvicut Hudson Bay Belt Hatchet w/Leather Sheath

Easy to carry and ideal for splitting kindling, driving in wooden tent stakes, or carving, this hatchet is produced by the most experienced artisans with the utmost care! The blade is forged from 5160 grade alloy steel for strength, toughness, and durability. In addition, the blade is heat-treated and quenched to produce a hardened edge which is tempered to Rc 52-56. The 14˝ handle is made of grade “A” American Hickory and is mounted to the head in a traditional manner using a softwood wedge crossed with a steel wedge for added security. A Linseed oil coating is applied to protect the handle. The 1.25 lb. axe head is coated with oil to prevent rusting and to showcase the natural beauty. Made in the USA.
